IN THIS ISSUE

Greetings!

As we approach the middle of this fateful year, let us recall the health-producing, longevity knowledge shared by experts, such as a 17-year study of people with higher omega-3 diets who showed less cognitive decline, slower brain atrophy, and lower likelihood of developing dementia, depression and other mental health conditions (New Sci., April 27, 2024). Omega-3? Yes, as in leafy greens and oily fish such as salmon.

Some of us in the new energy movement keep following those who are dedicated to replicating free energy generation and antigravity effects reported by the legendary John Searl, who I met in person in 1980 in Germany. Lately, a new researcher, Isaiah Ritchey has come forward with 15 years of building replicas of the Searl disk with one ring and rollers. His one hour report was just on APEC (May 11, 2024) and posted online:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_TlP-p8Q7w which is also a great introduction to the subject, with lots of demonstration models that Ritchey actually built.

For the upcoming summer cookouts, gatherings, picnics, why not consider “compostable cutlery”? IRI recommends using them since they are environmentally friendly and more durable than thin, breakable plastic spoons, forks, and knives which also create microplastic residues in the food. The Repurpose Assorted Cutlery brand of forks and spoons on Amazon are great and made from corn, cassava, sugarcane, and beets.

Lastly, the British Gary McKinnon story from Ancient Aliens (Season 12, Episode 9) which is only 5 minutes long, about his hacked spreadsheet of officers and space ships from NASA’s classified computer files, has to my surprise, been corroborated by another reputable researcher and colleague of mine a few years later, under the topic of the US Space Force activity. For most of us, it is beyond belief even with such evidence to the contrary.

Story #1 reminds me of the Exxon story that I heard today on NPR, about a judge siding with Exxon to allow them to file suit against any investor/stockholder who is pressuring them to become more climate conscious! With ever increasing CO2 exhaust from fossil fuels being dumped and stored in the atmosphere storage bin above us (about 40 gigatons/year), we are as one climatologist explained, turning earth into a Venus-like planet, as about 85% of all generating energy on earth comes from burning something that emits CO2. Venus is about the same size as earth and not much closer to the sun but its atmosphere is full of CO2 which traps heat by turning the incoming UV sunlight into IR reradiated heat, so its surface is very hot. The most recent open access article https://stm.bookpi.org/RAEGES-V3/article/view/14592#downloadTab that I published in Research Advances in Environment, Geography and Earth Science Vol. 3, 19 May 2024, gives humankind a roadmap to reversing global warming by attacking the CO2 already up in the air through carbon dioxide removal (CDR) to go into underground storage, as begun in infancy with Climeworks’ newest plant at Monmouth, with megaton hubs planned in the US https://climeworks.com/press-release/climeworks-switches-on-worlds-largest-direct-air-capture-plant-mammoth .

Story #2 is interesting because the Chinese are promoting a “water battery” with high energy density but the secret ingredient really turns out to be the cadmium electrode in an aqueous solution with iodide and bromide ions. It is still very innovative but a different name would help explain the magic a little better. Published in Nature Energy https://www.nature.com/articles/s41560-024-01515-9 the discovery has great merit to replace Lithium Ion batteries hopefully.

Story #3 gives us one more of many options nowadays for converting atmospheric CO2 into something useful, which in this case is carbon nanofibers that have a lot of applications. The article about the Brookhaven National Laboratory and Columbia University is available in a free PDF download https://www.azonano.com/news.aspx?newsID=40641#.

Story #4 may be true for many of our readers…you heard it first here… airborne wind energy (AWE). Imagine flying a kite and generating electricity at the same time. SkySails does it at a 100-kW level https://skysails-power.com/. The photo in the article tells it all, if you look way up at the top for the flying kite that is doing all of the work. The steady, intense winds some 500 meters above sea level are capable of generating 1,800 terawatts: enough to power the entire planet multiple times over. A 100-kW AWE system called the Falcon from Kitepower https://thekitepower.com/ will be on the market in 2025 or 2026.

Story #5 is a boost for clean energy in the form of uranium donations to friends of the UN from the US and Britain. With more uranium now available in Mongolia (see Related Articles), there will be more of this type of sharing, no doubt. Time magazine calls it “Future Power” and with a few pounds of uranium, a medium sized reactor for such a virgin country is a next step to dependable electricity. The Time story is quite a narrative of the United Nations politics as well.

Onward and Upward.

1) IRI's Latest Article published in  Research Advances in Environment, Geography and Earth Science Vol. 3

IRI Press Release May 25, 2024

IRI President, Tom Valone has published his latest article: Gigatonne Carbon Dioxide Removal: Reversing Global Heating Trends”

Abstract

The present study highlights about implementation of gigatonne carbon dioxide removal technologies. The inextricably tight connection between global CO2 values and global temperature, delineated and publicized by James Hansen and others, will finally create an urgency in the minds and hearts of all people so that global atmospheric carbon capture by the gigaton can begin in earnest and in parallel with carbon-free fuels, zero carbon emissions, renewable energy, and even negative carbon emissions, implemented worldwide. It is a surprising realization to many that a changing temperature tightly correlates with the carbon dioxide (CO2) levels worldwide in a linear, lockstep manner with a reversible but very short temporal feedback loop of only a few decades…

2) Water Battery Created By Scientists that can Hold Much More Energy than Lithium Cells

Batteries News.com May 25,2024

Chinese scientists create ‘water battery’ that can hold much more energy than lithium cells: study. Researchers in China have developed a water-based battery, which is claimed to be much safer and energy-efficient than “highly flammable” non-aqueous lithium batteries. Interestingly, the researchers say that these new batteries will be twice as energy-dense as traditional lithium-ion options. This holds the potential to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry.

Moreover, aqueous batteries use water as the solvent for electrolytes, enhancing their safety. Traditional non-aqueous lithium-ion batteries have a high energy density, but their safety is compromised due to the flammable organic electrolytes, a component that allows the battery to charge and discharge, they utilize.

3) Catalytic Combo Effectively Produces Carbon Nanofibers from CO2

New Scientist, April, 2024

Researchers at Columbia University and the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory have created a method for turning carbon dioxide (CO2) into carbon nanofibers—materials with a variety of special qualities and several long-term applications.

4) Flying Kites Deliver Container-Size Power Generation

IEEE Spectrum May 2024

One entrant trying to put AWE to market is the appropriately named Kitepower. This year, the Netherlands-based company will begin shipping its first system: the 40-kilowatt Hawk. Far from replacing traditional turbines, Kitepower hopes the Hawk can power sites that might turn to polluting diesel generators: temporary microgrids, for instance, or remote locations removed from the main grid. The Hawk’s kite isn’t the kind you ordinarily fly for leisure. Rather, it is a fiberglass skeleton undergirding an inflatable wing, up to 60 square meters surface area. It flies in “pumping” cycles: the kite reels out, then a winch reels the kite back in. While the Hawk unfurls, the kite weaves to and fro in a figure-eight pattern, optimal to catch crosswinds. As the winds pull at the kite, they also pull at its tether—generating electricity on the ground.

5) The United Nations: Future Power

Time Magazine May 2024

Even to optimists, the U.S. proposals for an international atomic agency often seemed like little more than a buzz of oratory. Last week the U.S. produced the goods. Before the U.N., Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. made a bare announcement: the U.S. has allocated 100 kilo grams (220 Ibs.) of fissionable material to be distributed to atomic “have not” nations as fuel for experimental reactors.

The offer thumped down in the U.N.’s political committee like a bag of gold on a bargaining table littered with I.O.U.s. By the gift of material weighing no more than a hefty Notre Dame fullback, the U.S. presented the world with a package more fabulous than Aladdin’s wildest dreams.
